ArchWell Health Announces Partnership with Carver Jones Market to Expand Access to Healthy Food for Seniors

The partnership will provide $10 gift cards to shoppers during the store’s “Senior Tuesdays” from Oct. 15 to Dec. 3

BIRMINGHAM, AL (Oct. 14, 2024) – ArchWell Health is proud to announce its partnership with Carver Jones Market in a collaborative effort aimed at increasing access to nutritious food options for seniors in Fairfield and the greater Birmingham area. This initiative underscores ArchWell Health's commitment to promoting healthier lifestyles and well-being among older adults in the community.

This partnership will provide individuals with $10 gift cards to shop at Carver Jones Market on Senior Tuesdays from 9am to 11am, Oct. 15 through Dec. 3 During Senior Tuesdays, shoppers over the age of 65 also receive a 10% discount on behalf of Carver Jones Market.

In addition to helping older adults access fresh, local foods the partnership will provide senior shoppers the chance to ask ArchWell Health employees about Medicare’s Annual Enrollment Period, which also runs Oct. 15 through Dec. 3.

Many Birmingham seniors struggle with consistent access to affordable, healthy produce and nearly 70 percent of all residents live in a designated food desert. Alabama has one of the highest rates of food insecurity in the nation – an issue that is exacerbated by common obstacles for seniors, such as access to transportation and special dietary requirements.

Carver Jones Market is located at 4800 Gary Ave, Fairfield, AL 35064. Individuals over 65 receive a 10% discount every Tuesday at the market.
