NASHVILLE, Tenn. (March 20, 2025) – ArchWell Health and Healthy Living Norman will unveil the newly named ArchWell Health Kitchen at the Adult Wellness and Education Center at 602 N. Findlay Ave. ArchWell Health, a primary care company for seniors with five locations throughout Oklahoma, and Healthy Living Norman, an organization with a mission to promote the health and well-being of adults 50+, have established this partnership to promote nutrition education and community for older adults.
The newly named ArchWell Health Kitchen will host various cooking classes where Healthy Living Norman members can learn how to make healthy recipes including Mediterranean and Asian meals, baked goods, and smoothies.
"We are incredibly grateful to ArchWell Health for their generous support provided for the naming rights of our kitchen," said Katherine Leidy, Director of Healthy Living Norman. "Their dedication to advancing our mission enables us to enhance the programs we offer and continue making a meaningful difference for older adults in the Norman community. We look forward to growing this valuable partnership for years to come."
The ribbon-cutting ceremony will be held on Tuesday, March 25 at 3 pm at the Healthy Living Norman Adult Wellness and Education Center. To close out the ceremony, Laura O'Hara, RD, ArchWell Health Nutrition Education Program Manager, will hold a cooking demonstration featuring a Mediterranean salad.
“It is fitting that this ceremony is taking place during National Nutrition Month, as this year’s theme is Food Connects Us,” said, O’Hara. “This kitchen will not only empower older adults with the knowledge and skills to make nutritious choices that support a vibrant lifestyle but also help foster friendship and connection over delicious food.”
Studies have indicated that isolation and loneliness can lead to rapid cognitive decline and an increased risk of heart disease in older adults. Healthy Living Norman’s programs offer adults ages 50 and older a welcoming place to socialize, learn new skills, and focus on their physical health and well-being. Members enjoy personal fitness and group exercise classes, access to two art studios, outdoor pickleball, and a variety of educational classes and seminars. Membership information and a monthly program guide are available at www.healthylivingnorman.com.
ArchWell Health has five primary care centers in Oklahoma; three in Oklahoma City and two in Tulsa. In addition to high-quality primary care for adults 60+, ArchWell Health offers same-day appointments and weekly activities in a bright, welcoming environment that fosters friendships and connections.
